"Slay the Snake" - Sunday Oct 5th 2008 Meet @ 7:30AM Marie Curtis Park

"Slay the Snake"

When: 0730 Sunday October 5th 2008

Where: Marie Curtis Park(Browns Line/Lakeshore)

A slight variation on a familiar theme. You decide on how many times you want to grapple with that climb. One, two or three times but any more than that you risk being labeled maniacal. It's ok if you want to bypass the climb but be prepared to hand in your manhood / womanhood card at the start of the ride.

The ROUTE.

Check out the BREAK POINT in Milton.

Be sure to check out the route back as it skips around downtown Oakville.

Anyone want to ride out, I will be leaving from Queen and Eastern/Kingston at 0630. If you want to meet up enroute please post where on Lakeshore you expect to wait and I will give an ETA.

michael, i will be riding to the park also, dont wait for me but i will be riding down kingston, to lakeshore then on the path at ontario place all the way out to park lawn and then lakeshore to the park. i will probably not get to kingston until later than 630, so i will try and catch up to you and anyone else riding with you. Then i will be praying for a ride home from some kind soul.

QB, follow the same route we take on the original 'Escape The Don' rides, Lakeshore to Queens Quay, then at Stadium on the bike trail (Martin Goodman Trail). It is probably the safest route, especially if the group size is small.

Hey guys, James especially, thanks for a great ride. Here are my stats:

Totals:
4hrs 45min 36sec
5751 Cal.
140km
(Kingston/Eastern at Queen to Woodbine north of Lakeshore... via a *slightly* out of the way route.)

Avgs:
138bpm
29.4km/h

Max:
188bpm
56.3km/h
33% grade... I wonder where that was? ;) (Most of Rattlesnake was a lot more shallow than that actually, but I hit that 33% at the first switch back.)
