Sunday's Ride: Meet @ Tim Hortons(Birchmount/Danforth Rd.) for 6:30AM

Ride For Dan

0630 Sunday August 31st

START: Tim's (Birchmount /Danforth)

As Danny Y. has elected to have a weekend of drunken debauchery it behooves us to have the best ride of the year!!

So here goes.....

Option One: It's Worth the Ride to Goodwood

ROUTE 1

This is the main route (ie. the route I'm doing as I have usurped D.Y.'s power for the day) and stops at Annina's Bakeshop in Goodwood. This is a serious bakery and we should easily be able to consume more calories than we need.

Notes:

1. Note the start time of 0630!!

2. A straight shot on Kingston Road...NO turning down Guildwood Pkwy.

3. A left turn onto Old Kingston Road.

4. "Sketchy" (love that word) on Brock Road...single file!!

5. Careful when making right turn onto Wagg Rd. as it is still on a slight downhill and often some "Speedy Steve" gravel there.

6. Be careful when making the left turn to go south on Concession #2 after the break.

Option two: Whitby Strangler

ROUTE 2

This is for those who feel the need to asphyxiate themselves behind the QB express. This route will definitely be turning onto Pain Street for more than a few kilometres and I have modified it so ,you too, can enjoy the goodies in Goodwood.

Option Three: Bail out in Stouffville

Check Option One and slide into Stouffville and with any luck we can co-ordinate a hook-up for the ride back.

If you have any complaints Dan is your man.

In for the whole ride. Will do my best not to fall off!
Let's not forget it's a holiday weekend not a hammer day weekend.

I will be riding my tri-bike and as dan suggested will try to maintain a steady pace of 33-34 with no hammering. I will happily pull for the entire ride. We will likely do the same route as the other group, so if you wish to drop back you will be able to join up with the rest of the pack. This will be a good opportunity to push yourself.
see you all in the morning

James, Dan, awsome ride! QB, if that was 33-34km/h...oh I get it, you meant mph... now it all makes sense to me!

Anyway kinda late now, but if you ever do the Goodwood ride again I exported my GPS data to Bikely from this ride, it is here. I will cross post the link on my blog, sk8terdreams.blogspot.com later this evening.

Don't forget everyone tomorrow, 180km from Tims at Lake and Leslie to Lake Simcoe and back. Departing at 0530.

well that quick pace had nothing to do with the qb express and everything to do with the solid riders from Ride for Karen (sorry gents forgot your names) a newbie to our group but obviously an extremely capable Jerome, Laurie, Emile, and Jordan (the young man flies up the climbs!). Thanks guys, quite enjoyed that ride, I had an average of 33.4km/hr going up to the bakery and a full average of 34.1km/hr, so we were pushing hard on the way home. emile figured we tracked 38 for the times we were actually riding.
